Hallo Jerry, definitely Morus nigra is one cold zone less hardy than Morus alba - in general and without special micro climate. Morus alba cames from China and M. nigra from Iran. I was told, some so called Morus nigra cultivars are in fact Morus alba cultivars with dark fruits only. Definitely there are additionally big differences inside the species. Morus alba has been cultivated since more than 2500 years. At too many countries in the recent history...silk production, even at Germany. At Iran the Morus nigra are considered as the very, very best fruit: Shah-Tut = King's mulberry Never ever they would eat any Morus alba... ciao hans Jwlehman@aol.com schrieb: bf0.2e766ed9.359bb850@aol.com" type="cite">In a message dated 7/1/2008 11:10:23 AM Eastern Daylight Time, lucky.pittman@murraystate.edu writes: |
