We are in the middle of the growing season when every day the fruit trees are adding a new chapter to the story of this years harvest. Isn't this the important subject matter of this list?
I don't find Roundup to be an important tool in my work shed for the non-commercial orchards that I manage. Commercial growers often use it routinely but for the home orchardist a few sheets of newspaper covered with mulch is a generally more satisfactory solution to weed control in my experience.
These lengthy discussions of ecology and environmentalism are important but in my opinion belong in another forum. Maybe in mid-winter when there's not so much going on we can throw one of these logs on the fire but there's plenty of better fuel to burn right now.
