Subject: Re: [NAFEX] bramble propagation
by stem cutting
There is quite a bit of variability in success of cuttings depending
on the genotypes and species involved as Rubus is a very diverse genus.
For most blackberries and black raspberries, two node cuttings taken in late
July or September with a little Rootone and placed under mist works
pretty well. The semi-erect and erect blackberries will work this way,
but not as well as the trailing blackberries will. I've had some success
rooting very tender primocane shoot tips of red raspberry taken
in spring but for red raspberries root cuttings are definately the
way to go. As the methods vary a little bit by type, what type
of brambles are you trying to propagate?

Hi Guys;
I have read of a few ways to propagate brambles by stem cuttings.
Does anybody have an easy, proven method?
No copies of Patented or Friends stuff will be done.
Tip layering is cool, but I want to try to make a whole bunch.
