My pluots are verging on complete failure at this point, they are very much
west-coast fruits.
Why is that, Scott? Is it because of disease problems, you mean?
As an experiment, I planted three pluots last spring, though I had my
doubts at how they'd do. Still, it's probably a lot drier here in
Nebraska than in Maryland, so disease pressure (if that's the problem)
might not be so bad here.
For what it's worth, my young trees grew great this year, but they were
hit hard by Oriental Fruit Moths. Now that I know what the problem is,
I'll have to work at spraying more regularly.
