Thanks for all the great tips on testing the ripeness of Asian pears. I'll
be out in the orchard at night shining a flashlight to test for
transparency, pushing my thumb on the top of the fruit to see is I leave a
dent and gently twisting the stem to see if it detaches on its own.
My neighbors already think I'm crazy--plastic bags on all the fruit,
wild-turkey-crossing and pesticide-free-zone signs in the orchard have set
tongue wagging. So I'll add to my mystic!
Again, thanks for the valuable information. It's what I love most about
NAFEX and this listserv.
