Subject: [NAFEX] Is there a notary public on the list?

I want to document the transfer of plant materials. Just something which
says this other person got this material from me on a certain date. There's
a slim chance that several years in the future this document might prevent
this new owner from being sued by some unknown party who tries to patent the
plant material. Assuming this document can be found again when it's
needed...
Anyway, I'd like info such as, can I use a generic document and use it for
several different plants; can I xerox the notarized document (for
distributing the plant material to several people) and these copies would be
as legally binding as the original; would I also have to notarize the plant
description; what price tag is this adding up to; etc.
This idea is the story-so-far abotu "non-patenting", or keeping public such
plants as chance-seedlings which have passed certain deadlines for
patenting, but which the dishonest might try to patent. I've done a lot of
reading and discussing of plant-patenting, doubt I know all about it, but
the above seems the best & most simple & cheapest solution.
