Oh, yes, common sense did try to tell me that – but an article on steam juicing had suggested both those unsuccessful techniques.  Oh, well.  I prefer to think of my sense as uncommon – unfortunately, this is not an indicator that it’s generally competent…

 

How do you make your syrups, do you have a specific recipe source?  I’ve been a little dissatisfied with some of mine.  They’re okay, could be better.

We purchases a steamer/juicer this past summer and just love it!!!  Great for extracting juices from grapes, elderberries, wild plums, etc.  The fruit syrups are the best - and will be Christmas presents this year for those who have been good little ones.  The thing really works.  I agree you have to use clean stemmed fruit, but common sense tells us that anyway.  Go for it, is my input
