At NAFEX convention in New Hampshire a few years back, one of the speakers with cider apple orchard said Bud-118 was being tested for cider to contribute some quality of taste or another. I thought this photo was interesting because the photo suggests the tree can bear about as heavy as any well known fruiting apple. Bud-118 is nearly a standard-size tree, but is also productive young, unusual for standard-size-type apple rootstocks, and imparts this productive young trait to its grafted on varieties. Has anyone tasted Bud-118's own apples? What do they taste like?
