Here in Newfoundland the Lingonberry grows
everywhere on exposed coastal headlands consisting of peat bogs, however the
Lingonberry grows on rocky outcrops, not the wet sphagnum areas. These areas
normally have a PH of 3.5 to 4.5. However the largest berries and biggest crops
are on drier humus soil, mixed with Lowbush blueberry, with a PH of 4.0 to
4.5. Production was very large this year, with most of the crop being exported
to Germany, I do believe.
