Your post was interesting food for thought.
My wife read the book and for a while tried the diet. I wonder how many
people it has helped vs. how many people it didn't help. It could turn out
to be a statistical wash, but the author makes note of the successes more
than the failures. Kind of like the speculative stock
pickers who convince people to buy from them by telling them to watch one
of their stock picks and see if it goes up. It may well go up, but that is
no indication of their track record. In the same way, I would think it
would be difficult to know the track record of the blood type diet, unless there
were some good double blind studies. I don't want to be overly negative
and I'm not saying it doesn't work for some people, but I'm cautious to accept
it unless there was rigorous testing.
