The birds peck at a few of the sour cherries, but mostly leave them
alone. They are too busy with the mulberries. The fruit set on the
cherries is lighter than last year, but a whole lot better than all my
apples trees. The apple crop will be almost nonexistent this year for
me and others in the Seattle area. We had some hail and heavy rain just
as the apple blossoms were ready for pollination.
