yes, thanks-- "rufous-sided towhee". Interesting birds. They will scratch
up the dry leaves under bushes just a couple yards away, while you work
outside.

Do you mean Towhee, as in Rufous Sided Towhee or Green Tailed Towhee?
Rufus Sided is a beautiful bird with an equally beautiful early morning
song.
