Hello all,
Just stopped in at a local garden center to see what they had for peach
trees. What a disappointment.
The only fruit trees were 5-in-1 apples, 4-in-1 pears and some flowering
crabs.
The tags on the 5-in1 apples did not even tell you the five varieties on
the tree. You had to guess from the photos on the tag.
At least each of the pear grafts was labeled.
The trees were much too large for the pots they were in, and there were no
peach trees at all. It was obvious the trees were in the same pots they
inhabited last year.
The garden center's owner complained how they use to sell a lot more fruit
trees, but fruit tree business has dwindled.
It is not unexpected when you have unlabeled stock, that is potbound and
overgrown.
Very sad.
Later,
Tom
