Very funny, and true. I suspect there are both "annual" and "perenial"
manifestations of this disorder.
Zones can be beat on a small scale by special handling. Those techniques
are a regular theme in people's endeavors with "fruit exploring" or other
branches of horticulture. The more that activities approach a large scale
(orcharding, forestry, farming) the less sustainable "special handling"
becomes.
There is some fun in trying to beat the Zones, as long as your planting is
considered expendable. Nature holds the upper hand.
