Donna you said:Have any of you northerners ever
tried DMSO on their peach buds?
Can you please explain what you mean by DMSO on peach buds.
Recently there was a letter about AGRO-K sprayed on peach buds to keep
buds from frost damage. I could not find a supply source in
Northeast Wisconsin so I E-mailed AGRO-K in Minneapolis Minnesota and
yesterday I received a packet that explains their products. There
is not a supply in this area, they explained if spayed 24 hours prior to
a frost it is possible to have about 5F degrees of protection. They
will UPS the material to you. There was not a good explanation of
how and what spray would be used for disease or bugs.
As far as hardy plums I thought there are some European plums that
are cold hardy to -40F. Perhaps some one further north could
expound on that. Ray Zone 4-5 On the shore of Lake Michigan.
