Responding to Doreen Howard's letter about Manchurian Apricot, I have
never seen one as a bush; it is a small tree. $2.49 is a fair price; my
rootstock source sells it for less but in quantities of 25.
As for flavor, in my opinion, one Manchurian Apricot fruit contains the
flavor of a dozen, or more, other apricots. If you make jam of it, you'll
want to greatly dilute it.

In one of the million plant catalogs I receive this time of year, there is a
Manchurian bush apricot for sale--$2.49 for a 2-4 foot well-rooted tree, it
says. I have my doubts about that, considering the price.
Does this bush variety have any flavor, is it really hardy down to -60F and
is it productive? Inquiring minds want to know and maybe risk $3.
