I've got one local D.virginiana selection that produces mostly
small(1") seedless fruits and occasional larger (1.5")
fruits, each of which typically contains a single, slightly
plumper-than-normal seed. Plenty of potential pollenizers
nearby.
I've yet to think to visit it during bloom period to inspect the blossoms
as to 'gender' or perfection.
