You might want to mulch the pluot well and wrap the trunk. I have 7 pluots
on Citation. the Citation rootstock is ok, but the Pluot trunks tend to get
wind or sun burn in the winter and start to split, crack and peel. Had I
known about that I would have latex painted or wrapped them for the winter to
preserve the trunk. None of the other fruit trees are that susceptible as a
class.
