HI-
We have a patch of blackberries that have
grown well this year; green, lush growth. Some of the canes are more than 6
ft tall. The problem is that the fruit (before ripening) has dried up on
most of the canes as dry black hard balls. If you press them between
your fingers they become like dust and blow away.
We have had a lot of problem with the pear
trees because of fire blight due to the wet and cold spring
and summer -- is it a fungus?
What can I do
about it? I have cut off the fruiting part of the canes with the dried up
fruit.
