Hello All,
I goosed the name of the refered netting company I had posted a few weeks
ago.
Plantsman John Meader, specialist in Rubus and blueberries (highbush and low)
and
also the keeper of many of his father's lesser known breeding results (Elywn
Meader), says:
"As you'll see by the sample, the net is woven in a way that allows a great
deal
of stretch - all other nets I've seen are square-mesh...and don't stretch.
7/8" is
better than 1" if the 1" is square-meshed. Since small birds will poke
through
(sparrows, e.g.)and the berries, though they won't steal fruit, what does one
do?
A piece of 7/8" that is 100' by 25' covers my net frame easily, cost me
roughly
$150 (it's $179.00 now) and will last 14 years; so annual cost is like $10 or
$15!"
The company is named J A Cissel and can be reached at:
