In zone 3 I am still grafting dormant scions of prunus sp. Some seem to need
heat to callus, but we are 35F to 55 this week, so I graft a few every week
hoping to hit it right.
I do several kinds - w/t, chip, and a hybrid chip-w/t that I like.
One year I grafted dormant apple wood in mid July - and it grew and turned
dormant in time to make it through the winter.
Del, just came in with a armload of fire wood for the wood stove, good
grief!

sofar, it is the barkslipping season. Is it late july till august? Or Can I
start at the end of june?

>c. If I bud with dormant scions, when will the growth be? This year or
