Kaki wilt:
Has anyone noticed that this occurs at the time of
fire blight? I ask because the county agent and I noticed this being worse
downwind of ornamental pears with fire blight. Plus, the nurseryman saw it
starting on his bucket persimmons, (kaki), and sprayed agri-mycin and captan
and that stopped it and trees began to recover. Co-incidence? Has anyone
ruled out fire blight as a cause?
Some of my 2 year old trees that looked vigorous
got it this year. One died and the other one is now putting on new growth after
losing about 90% of its foliage and some stem die back. The one hit 2 years ago
is still living, just not growing.
