I am a novice grafter with an observation which leads to a question:
When I make my whip cut for a whip and tongue graft, I notice that
there is often a slight curl, or cup, to my cuts. The cut starts at a
steeper angle and then becomes more shallow. I am using a single bevel
grafting knife, recently sharpened per the excellent directions in the
most recent Pomona. Should I chalk this swooped cut up to
inexperienced hands or to a faulty geometry in my knife?
