Title: Re: [NAFEX] Cultivar of the Quarter
Mars must definitely perform better there than on the West Coast. Out here it's biggest asset is that it's big, for a seedless grape. Quality is only fair, though it improves after picking - the acidity seems to break down after it has been picked for a day or so. Also, it does well as frozen fruit. But if it wasn't seedless, it would rank well below a lot of other grapes, including it's parent, Island Belle (aka Campbell Early).

5. Mars Grape. Outstanding quality for a "hardy" eastern type with is
resistant to many diseases.
