Subject: [NAFEX] Lye for stumps?

>>I saw a report on using 20% vinegar to kill weeds. It bursts the cell
walls,
I was able to find 50 pound bulk lye, however, for melting oak stumps in my
future orchard.<<
Maybe they were talking about 20% on the other list. I wasn't watching that
closely (sorry, no spellchecker on this machine). But they did say Home
depot had it, whatever the %.
How do you use the lye to melt stumps? I have plenty of lye, I also get it
in 50 lb bags for soapmaking. Plenty of stumps too, for that matter.
