Subject: [NAFEX] bilberry/ v. myrtillus
I am looking into vaccinium myrtillus for a relative - who at age 48 has
suddenly found herself going blind from a rare form of retinal degeneration.
Her post surgery prognosis by the eye surgeon is basically "good luck", so,
though she is a science teacher, she now finds herself persuing
'alternative' forms of healing .
Bilberry keeps coming up. Some sites call it a huckleberry, one foot tall;
but the huckleberries I remember were 4' high. Even if it has no healing
properties, it would make good jam. Anyone know where I could buy
some plants? Del, here's a website on bilberry
