One of my favorite things to do with the seed of spicebush is to toast
them in a dry skillet or hot oven. Like any other nut it takes the harsh
edges off. I paired this with venison and jerusalem artichokes for a
delicious "wild" dinner.
On the subject of dying trees , an excellent book to read is THE DYING OF
THE TREES.. The authors name escapes me. It looks at various populations of
trees across the country that are dying off. Lindera isnt included, but it
is an eye opener.
