Banana leaves also are great for steaming fish on the BBQ. Wrap raw fish
with spices and various condiments in a 2 X 2-foot leaf section and set on
the coals for about 15 minutes. It steams and the leaves impart a wonderful
flavor. Red snapper, tuna steaks and sea bass are great done this way.
Also, shredded banana leaves compost rapidly and add valuable trace minerals
to the compost.
