I have been buying 'Vis Pore' 3 foot square tree mats from the local soil
and water folk for about 50 cents ea for putting around trees. They are a
black , 3 year, plastic mulch weed blocker with tiny holes for water and
air passage.
On a net search I found them for not much less in large quantity.
Last year I remember seeing a breatheable black landscape fabric, a type of
geotextile I suppose, that looked like it would pass water as well and be a
lot less $'s. Some of these textiles have uv inhibitors, and some don't.
I haven't come up with any proper trade names for the right stuff to look
for it in bulk.
Any sugestions for breatheable, light blocking, uv resistant mulch? Thanks,
Del
