Del
I just go out and cut grapes to 12 inch lengths. Then stick them in the
ground up to where there is only a single bud above ground and leave them
alone, no cover etc. mostly all start and grow.
Gordon===========================
I was late at getting my grape cuttings out of the fridge and started this
year, so I potted them up in sphagnum, half in - half out, and put them on
top of a storage heater. The bottom of the pot is about 80 F and the top
of the sticks 70. It's been a week and the buds are swelling. I have the
tops in black plastic to stop light but noticed two were getting mouldy.
I've opened the sack some to air out. I figure the stems will dry more that
way but I don't know how important darkness is. Thanks, Del
