I think your idea of trying to tease them apart is the best idea. If you
break a few roots you can plant them also, but at least you will have some
with undamaged roots.
The apricot seeds that you sent me arrived in fine shape with 7 germinated
and 1 with leaves emerging. All are in tubes in a cold frame since it will
get down to 32 tonight and 30 tomorrow night.
