In addition to the three cooperating national and state SAR associations, we are privileged to have Larimer County SAR Team as our local host team. Many members are handling critical details of such a large event, from IC on down to training site scout (TSSL in ICS). Thanks, Larimer!
Special guest speaker
Tom Hornbein, member of the 1963 US team that summited Everest via the West Ridge. In his book Into Thin Air, Jon Krakauer writes that "Hornbein's and Unsoeld's ascent was--and continues to be--deservedly hailed as one of the great feats in the annals of mountaineering." Tom was at one time a member of Rocky Mountain Rescue Group in Boulder, Colorado.
