Una, I hope everything turns out O.K. I am praying for rain for your area.
Sincerely,

The Las Conchas wildfire burning in New Mexico now is a few miles upwind of my house. From a few houses away, flames of a forest crown fire are visible on a ridge behind Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Many horses have been evacuated from the community already, most going to an equestrian
event facility 1 hour away. Those horses not evacuated now will be sheltering in place for the duration. Tonight I made sure paddock water tanks were full (150 gallons) and also put 20 gallons of water in the trailer. During the last wildfire 10 years ago the municipal water system shut down. There are only two paved roads out of the area, and the wildfire has forced closure of one of them. Voluntary evacuation is in effect and traffic leaving town is heavy.
