The SSARCC was formed to represent the profession of all search and rescue
disciplines, to coordinate related efforts and activities
among the various states, territories, and tribal governments, and to serve
as a liaison and unified voice to the various federal
government partners regarding all search and rescue related concerns.
The majority of ESF-9 State SAR coordinators in the USA now belong to the
council. Most of these state coordinators create a list of
suitable SAR skills and acceptable SAR training/test, such as NASAR, and do
not create state conducted training programs. It may
be a good idea for MSAR to contact their State ESF-9 Coordinator and find out
what is new.
