Subject: [MSAR] Hello, MSAR
Hello
I have been in canine SAR for about 3 years. I am also a member of OSRT and
OSRT in Ohio is starting a mounted unit. Right now there is 3 of us. I
would like for you to tell me how to start training our horses. What
horseanality traits do you look for in a SAR horse? What is the first thing
do I need to get the horses proficent in?
The OSRT leaders here have decided to use Maryland MSAR to model after.
I have 2 horses myself, and I follow Parelli training with them. So their
manners are pretty good. A Morab mare, age 15 and an Icelandic gelding, age
16. The Morab is a flighty. The Icelandic is much quieter.
