We wear Yellow reflective vests with the patch in front (right pocket) and the words Search & Rescue on the back in 2" letters.
The cost for the lettering was about the same price as the vest; we out-sourced the lettering to a uniform shop.
The vests are large enough to wear over coats for colder environments.

Subject: [MSAR] Uniform Ideas/Suggestions
Hello,
I’m wondering if any of you might have ideas/suggestions on this. I’m part of a state park mounted assistance unit. Although we do have uniform shirts with patches on both sleeves and name tags, they don’t provide enough visibility for mounted patrollers. We’re planning to beef up our uniform presence and are looking for examples/suggestions of ways to do that (preferably, not too expense since we will have to finance). We are discussing jackets (good thing!) but we are also in a warm climate so these will only have limited functionality. We do have vests but for some reason, they don’t provide much visibility or do the job of identifying us as state park volunteers.
Any ideas/examples, etc., are greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Diana
