Here you go, a link to the famous white horses!
I had the great pleasure of seeing Herrmanns Lippizaners when they were in my area years back. I also had the wonderful pleasure of boarding at a dressage barn and met some very nice people there that were stupendous riders. While I did not partake in show dressage on any performing level, I had garnered many nice tips and compliments from the people there that I had rode with with our Paso Finos and they were in awe of our little spanish horses and how nicely trained they were. Back then I was riding heavy trail and got into endurance, competitive riding and was trainng a few trotters for other people at the time.
I am not sure if the Temple Lippizan horses are still in Northern Illinois, but it might be worth a look see for anyone in that area to visit them there.
Herrmanns was a traveling show and a great rare opportunity to see these beautiful stallions preform. It is always so nice to see well trained horses, especially stallions in number. I wish I knew more of their secrets to airs above the ground and other "battle" manuvuers! So many things you can teach the horse from just being on the ground!
Being that I raise gaited spanish horses, I have a great love for all the spanish breeds. Karen
