Here is an exerpt from a post on an Illinois Riders list. This woman helped with the truck that overturned. She suggests that the horses may be PMU babies.
We have five acres and lots of fencing up, but hubby won't let me have a horse. Some day maybe he'll give in, but I had to join to just be in touch with horse people after my involvement with the semi that over turned on Route 41 in Wadsworth. My daughter and I worked for 3 1/2 hours with the horses and were touched with such joy at saving some and the gut wrenching pain after hours of working on some babies to have to say good-bye to those precious ones.
It changed my life and fortified my beliefs and insistence on not taking the drug for my mid life time because of my conviction to the poor PMU methods with mares. Those poor babies just so touched my life and seeing the awesome work of all
the people and the vets and the rescue fire and police depts., I was honored to have been in the company of such wonderful passionate people. I met someone from that experience and we have struck up an aquaintance.
I cried all day long and still cry when I start to talk about it. I feel like I've been sort of tramatized.
Lois
