I thought Sherry was asking if anyone here works a SAR dog from
horseback. In past discussions here of dogs, some readers have
mentioned they do.
I would expect a SAR person who is into hunting dog field trials
would do this, as these dogs normally are worked from horseback.
On a long leash, or off it. And on the Navajo Nation in the NW
corner of New Mexico I once watched a horse rider direct several
herding dogs working a flock of ~100 goats. That was an amazing
thing to see.
