Not knowing details, but with Kim Kelly's training still on my mind,
this story is a poster child for Alzheimer's education for search and
rescue volunteers, mounted, ground and canine handler alike.
Training in Lost Person Behavior is a huge asset for searchers, and
particularly extra training in Alzheimer where the behavior pattern is
notably different. Another good training is regarding possible child
predator abductions, where the search areas and searcher Ops are very
different than a normal SAR. In SAR, knowledge is power. And that additional
knowledge might make the difference between life and death for the missing
person.
