I was doing some reading the other day-on garden design- and ended up on
the following pages which I found educational. I never knew how 'new'
the peace symbol was or how it was developed. I originally thought it
might be an interesting base design for a culinary herb bed, but we have
since gone in another direction. It might work for someone, though.
Can you picture the design on a flat lawn, drawn by bricks or stones
embedded? Or a large scale peace symbol made with tires?

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will
not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius
will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the
world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone
are omnipotent. The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve
the problems of the human race"
