Subject: [Homestead] Fennel question

What from I have read, Florence fennel is mainly used as a vegetable(the
bulb) and common fennel is grown for the seed. Obviously, during the
time it takes to produce seed, the bulb would become more woody, but
assuming that one did not harvest Florence fennel for the bulb, would
the seed be of the same flavor, nutritional value, and quantity as the
seed from common fennel? It would seem to me to be the same, but since
I haven't grown it, I thought I would make sure I wasn't missing something.
