I'm glad everyone likes the quote. I did not recall it in your book. I
found it the other day when I was researching David Rockefeller of all
people. It immediately appealed to me because it takes away all
excuses(I'm not good enough, smart enough, educated/priviledged, etc.)
It put the responsibility for success right where it should be, on
determination, something that all mentally sound people have. No
excuses or reasons why one can't, just a solid persistence of I will....

Bev, that is one of my favorite quotes. I like it so much that it has
appeared in all three editions of my book.
I have come to believe that focus and persistence are the keys to
achievement of one's goals.

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will
not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius
will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the
world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone
are omnipotent. The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve
the problems of the human race"
