Suicides occur for a lot of different reasons, and they do not occur
primarily within the upper socio-economic strata........
Suicides occur for many reasons, in general unhappiness, whether from
physical or psychological pain. The upper socio-economic class is
comprised of a tiny percentage of world population so of course those
suicide numbers are small compared to the general population.
The discussion here is not suicide; it is about money. It is the
question of how money contributes to happiness. My readings are that
once necessities are attained, more money does not bring much more
happiness and in fact the pursuit of money often becomes a never-
ending and angst-ridden quest--an example of the law of diminishing
returns.
