What do you mean by relatively? There are written records of raiding and
killing, or warfare, as far back as written history goes. There is evidence
of blunt trauma and violent death in the fossil record, as well. Now, if you
are referring to the 4 billion or so years the planet has existed, well then
yes, warfare is "relatively" recent. I don't really think that's the time
frame to which you are referring, though.

The raiding and killing for resources is a relative new thing, Ray. And
even with its inception, it was relatively limited to certain areas and
groups. There were whole areas where folks were quite content with the area
they lived in and what they had in that area.
