That was my first thought when the folks in moon suits started
invading schools. Knowing what I know about where "disposed of"
garbage goes, I'm betting that the asbestos is now a lot more
dangerous to the general public than it used to be.
As some of you who have followed my rantings over the years already
know, I spent a large chunk of my life writing for various government
agencies charged with getting rid of low-level nuclear waste. Due to
the efforts of the good citizens of Illinois, the stuff is not going
into an over-engineered facility where it would be safe for its
lifetime (ranging from 10 to a few thousand years). No -- it's being
stored in pole buildings at unknown (at least to me) locations.
Ho-hum.
