The broad-breasted bronze is the creature you buy in a grocery store or the
broad-breasted white. They are dumb as dirt AND quite nasty creatures.
They are, however, easy to sell and one of the projects youngest does to
raise money. She takes orders in advance and, believe me, she doesn't sell
them cheap, either! $40/bird on the hoof, so to speak <g> Of course, being
raised free-range with lots of goodies to wander around and eat, folks that
buy them think they've bought the greatest thing in the world. One guy
bought two last year and has already put in an order for 4 this coming
spring. Everyone who has bought one has come back for more. They all want
to know her secret and she tells them "well, mainly I just take them for
walks." <g> She has people thinking that somehow walking turkeys makes them
taste better. What she is actually doing is moving them from pasture to
pasture because the blooming things are too stupid to go looking for the
good stuff themselves!

Domestic bronze turkeys aren't stupid and are a good bird to raise. Taste
way better too. It's they turk-zilla hybrid birds that are abysmally
stupid,
hard to raise, and taste like cardboard.
