I learned to shoot as a kid and we had the target pistols. Then my Dad took
us out to use the 30-06 he had (brought it back from the Phillipines, Korean
War). Blam, had a bruise from that thing for a month!
In high school, the gal that my mother worked with had her husband take us
all out to the sheriff's range. We got our Jr. Expert Marksman then. Tried
a lot of guns but still like my old faithful target pistol <g> It works
real well for the 3S's!
Used to have a cute little 410 over and under. They're more a toy than
anything else. Don't know what happened to that gun. The ex probably
hauled it off in the dead of night with everything else he decided was his.

I also have a .22 pistol, with a 4.5" barrel. I love mine. I often
carry it in a thigh holster. I'm 'dead on'-meaning I can put it in a 4"
circle- at about 50 feet, but my barrel is shorter. ;)
People say .22's don't have any stopping power. I understand the
argument but a well placed round to the groin would have pretty good
stopping power, I think.
Just this week an 8 year old shot his father and another man with a .22
rifle. Sad story. Apparently the father had given him the gun and
taught him to shoot it.
I've used all the rest and we currently have a 3030 and a 30-06.
Need a shotgun.
We also need a shotgun...
We got a 308 last year. Officially it belongs to the kid, but he won't
be using it until 2013.
