My cousin used a twelve volt dc low output pump to move water from a
spring up to an old stainless milk tank up on the hill behind the
house, which then gave him gravity feed to the house at near normal
house pressure. A nice feature was that his solar system charged a
twelve volt batter, which then operated the pump, so the pump was
working even at night.
