Yea, what was really bad was when they sent me a bill for the emergency room
visit. I went down and talked to the police chief, they paid the bill.
I have no hard feelings against the young cop who hit me. He was
fresh-faced, probably a rookie, and his partner was standing with him. He
probably was told not to take any guff off "punks". But, hey, I was 'white'
<g>. He roughed up the wrong guy <g>. I learned a lesson , though.
Today , my wife and I are members of Club 100. If a police officer is killed
in the line of duty, a representative of Club 100, goes to the officers house
and gives the widow $10,000.00 cash, no questions asked. If injured, smaller
amounts. It is very dangerous today, in Phoenix anyway, to be a cop. We
have a big problem with Mexican gangsters (I mean that literally).
